Middle East Tours (Australia), has designed this ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS 22 DAY TOUR for the discerning traveller who wants to visit two of the most colourful and interesting destinations in the world. IRAN AND JORDAN.

Our journey commences in Tehran, the capital city of Iran, formally known as Persia. After our tour of Iran we fly to the 'Hashemite Kingdom' of Jordan.

The Iranian tour includes the archaeological wonder of Persepolis, the ancient city of the great Kingdom of Darius and Xerxes, destroyed by Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC. We explore Yatz, a center of the old Zoroastrian religion, including the Fire Temple, with the holy flame believed to have been burning for 1500 years.

Two other historical marvels visited, are Shiraz, "the City of Nightingales" and the world renowned living heritage city of Esfahan. We stroll through the old city, which includes the beautiful Imam Square and Imam and Sheikh Lotfollah Mosques.

In the capital Tehran, we view the 'Crown Jewels', the greatest jewellery collection in the world, supposedly better than the Crown jewels in London and have ample time to shop for Persian carpets in bazaars that are hundreds of years old or to buy miniature paintings direct from the artists, who still carry on their an ancient craft.

An English speaking Iranian guide escorts us throughout the tour and there are plenty of opportunities to meet the warm friendly Iranian people.

The next country on our agenda is the tiny Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This small country is jam packed with history and culture. We saty at the Dead Sea where you can swim in the salty water or take time out for a herbal mud bath. The highlight of our tour of Jordan is the visit to the 'Rose Red City of Petra' carved out of the sandstone hills bu a local Arab people called the Nabataeans.

There is ample time to bargain for unique handicrafts, gold and silver jewellery and ancient fragrances in bazaars hundreds of years old. Our small group tour (max 10 persons) is escorted by a Middle East Tours (Australia) manager in conjunction with our full time local expert English speaking team.

Transport is in our own air-conditioned bus and 4wd vehicles. Accommodation is 4 or 5 star hotels or the best available and all meals are provided.
